I have been out of town so haven't posted. Gary did call me and he was in Pearisburg, VA this weekend. He is back on the trail after a night in a hotel, heading through VA. I think he said he was heading for Bailey Gap Shelter, That is the 653.0 mile marker. I got a card today from him and the pictures are great. He may be a photographer as well as a great hiker:)
